For Teachers

How may I help you? THIS IS HOW:

I work with NZ principals, teachers and students to help with local curriculum development and delivery, focusing on hands-on inquiry in environmental science.

This service is FREE – fully funded by the Min of Ed in NZ!

I will show you how to bring geology alive in the classroom and out in the field. As well as looking at earthquakes, mountains, volcanoes, fossils and rocks in New Zealand, I also cover forest ecology, Antarctic science and even mammal skeleton adaptations…

But it’s not just me – there is a whole team of us who are accessible to schools and we are all affiliated under the umbrella of FIELD BASED STEM

My fellow educators, scientists and teachers each specialise in different aspects of STEM education from bugs, rivers, forests, coastal ecology, art in nature, astronomy, drones, educational psychology, litter science – you name it, we have your PLD covered!

Interested in this free PLD this year? Then your school needs to APPLY

The good news is that we  are happy to DRAFT an application for you – just fill in our short questionnaire with a few details about your school at this link:

Alternatively if you would like to discuss your ideas first you can contact me here.

We look forward to hearing from you and best of all working together to boost your teachers’ science confidence and your school’s Local Curriculum!

Cheers

A note about Cultural Capability – although we have Facilitators who can offer mātauranga Māori, we are NOT accredited to provide Cultural Capability PLD. If you think that you will want to include Cultural Capability in your application, you will need to identify a suitable facilitator who is accredited.
